Malaga was visited for Traumatology Nurses

The XIII National Congress of Spanish Traumatology and Orthopaedic Nursing Association (AEETO) finished the 25th April 2014 after three intensive days of work.

Elena Miguel led the inauguration of the Congress. The President of the Official Nursing Association of Malaga, Juan Antonio Astorga, and the President of the scientific committee, Diego Cantalejo, also welcomed all the participants.

The first day, there was a simulation exercise in Malaga´s port with “Trauma patient care in the aquatic medium” to attract the interest of participants of the Congress.

During the other two days, in the auditorium of Palacio de Congresos de Málaga, all the speakers shared their latest experiences always with the motto “Traumatology and Orthopaedic Nursing: integrating science and emotions”.

After each hard day of work, we could take part in other activities organized by the AEETO Association, for example:
·      Downtown sightseeing with tourist guides
·      In the end, dinner in one of the oldest taverns of Malaga, El Pimpi, where Elena Miguel signed on a cask as President of the Spanish Traumatology and Orthopaedic Nursing Association.

The last day, after awards, Elena Miguel and Juan Antonio Astorga closed the Congress, thanking the quality and exciting participations of all.


In the days following the Congress, the organizing committee have received a lot of gratitude and congratulations for the good organization.

Spanish Traumatology and Orthopaedic Nursing Association (AEETO) 51st SECOT Congress (Madrid Spain) 10th October 2014

1st Workday of Spanish Traumatology and Orthopaedic Nursing Association (AEETO) 
during the 51st  SECOT Congress

The Spanish Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgeon Society (SECOT) has invited the Spanish Traumatology and Orthopaedic Nursing Association (AEETO) to organize some activities during the Congress of this year.

The workday will have two parts. Several lectures about “Nursing Innovation in Traumatology and Orthopaedics” will be in the morning:
  •  “Empowerment: Advanced practical. Experience in a Orthopeadic Ward”
  • “Education to the Nursing Competence in a security environment: Clinic Simulation”
  •  “Nursing Education in the Traumatology Combat Care”
  • “Basis and experience in online consultation care and telephone consultation care”

After these topics, there will be a time of free communications, where our colleagues will share their experiences with us.

In the afternoon, the activities will be more practical. There will be several practical seminars:
  •  Continuity of Care: Hospital discharge report
  •  Ethics: the deliberation
  •  Reflexology
  • Taping versus kinesio taping.
  •  Kyphoplasty
  •  Periprosthetic fractures


Elena Miguel Poza as President of the Spanish Traumatology and Orthopaedic Nursing Association will introduce the Association, explaining all activities of the association during the year and will display the Nursing Competences in Traumatology and Orthopeadics with all participants.
